We're proud to introduce the Career & Technical Education (CTE) Cohort. Designed specifically for leaders in the CTE in New York state—including principals, assistant principals, and district-level directors—this program offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and strategic advancement. Whether you're a seasoned administrator or relatively new to your role, the CTE Cohort provides an invaluable platform for developing essential leadership skills and enhancing your strategic planning capabilities.

DESIGNED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH

Objectives & Outcomes

Over the course of five months and six sessions, participants will engage in mentorship, collaborative development, and targeted skill-building. Key objectives include mastering strategic planning, cultivating leadership capacity within your staff, implementing effective observation and feedback cycles, leveraging data to drive instructional improvement, and supporting new and struggling teachers. Additionally, you'll have the chance to build meaningful connections with other CTE leaders, serving as a network of thought-partners and support. This inaugural CTE Cohort, backed by Hendy Avenue Consulting’s proven expertise in cohort-based learning, promises to be a transformative experience for those committed to elevating their leadership and impact in Career and Technical Education.

CTE administrators will build critical leadership skills including:

strategic planning
building leadership capacity on staff
leading impactful observation and feedback cycles
using data to improve instruction and achievement
coaching new and struggling teachers and practicing self care and sustainability.

all while building relationships with other leaders in similar roles.

Meet Our Facilitator

Jeremy Abarno

Hendy Avenue Consultant

Jeremy joined Hendy Avenue Consulting to contribute to the work the team does to grow the leaders and teachers who are responsible for providing the conditions for students to thrive. Jeremy facilitates Hendy Avenue’s NYC Chief Talent Officer Cohort, partners with Chicago Public School’s talent office in developing principal training, supports The Nationals Youth Baseball Academy with strategic planning and currently works with Hebrew Public to improve their math instructional leaders.

More About Jeremy

Jeremy started as a teacher in East Harlem in 2000 and has dedicated his career to the children of New York City. He served as the Principal at PAVE Academy public charter school. Prior to joining DREAM, Jeremy was the Managing Director of Mathematics and later Talent at Ascend Public Charter Schools in Brooklyn, a network of nine schools serving more than 4,000 students in central Brooklyn.

Before joining Hendy Avenue, Jeremy was the Chief Talent Officer of DREAM in East Harlem. In this role, Jeremy led the development of DREAM’s overall talent strategy including recruitment, professional development, workforce planning and human resources for DREAM’s schools, afterschool and community programs. Jeremy holds a Master’s in Special Education from City College and a School Building Leader license from Baruch. He is a graduate of New York University in elementary education. Jeremy lives in Brooklyn with his wife and three children.
