Summary
Since 2024, Hendy has partnered with Excel Academy Charter Schools to design and implement a coherent, network-wide system for teacher and leader development. This work began with the creation of the Excel Teacher Observation Rubric, including stakeholder engagement, rubric design, leader and teacher training, and calibration resources to establish a shared vision of excellent teaching. Building on this foundation, Hendy partnered with Excel to develop and implement a network-wide instructional support and teacher coaching model aligned to the rubric, providing ongoing training and coaching for instructional leaders to strengthen teacher development. Most recently, Hendy worked with Excel to create a comprehensive Leader Development and Evaluation Framework, including role-specific leadership rubrics, evaluation tools, training materials, and implementation support. Hendy continued to partner with Excel during the 2025–26 school year to pilot and refine the framework in advance of full implementation.
