Summary
Hendy's work with PAVE began with redeveloping the network's core values. Then, Hendy partnered with PAVE to develop a new teacher observation rubric aligned to those core values. Hendy also supported PAVE to design and successfully implement development and evaluation systems for teachers, school leaders, and non-instructional staff members. We also provided support with coaching and teacher development using the new tools, as well as messaging and change management to the PAVE community.
Outcome
PAVE's staff survey indicated meaningful improvement in teacher experience of observation, feedback and evaluation, including:
- 20% increase in teachers noting that "each time I am observed, I get feedback that gives me specific actions to improve my teaching practice"
- 26% increase in teachers noting that "I regularly discuss my teaching with an instructional leader at my school"
- 14% increase in teachers noting that "The teacher evaluation process helps me identify my strengths and weaknesses"
2024-2025
Summary
Building on the relationships formed in designing teacher and employee evaluation systems, Hendy collaborated with the PAVE Leadership team to draft a compensation philosophy that will serve as the anchor for all compensation practices and structures at PAVE. We engaged with the leadership team to uncover core beliefs about compensation through 3 strategy meetings, and conducted a comprehensive landscape scan of competitors to evaluate and lift up trends and best practices as it relates to compensation across the sector.
Outcome
The compensation philosophy is driving PAVE's decisions about employee compensation at all levels.
2024-present
Summary
Hendy is working with school leaders to provide coaching and feedback support related to math instruction at PAVE schools. The work includes in-persons school visits focused on math, and thought-partnership with the PAVE CEO.
